Getting breathless. So near yet so far.

I never hated phone calls this much. That irritatingly screeching tone.

So many things happened these few days. And one which truly made me realise the most beautiful part of my life - my family. It never occurred to me how lucky and blessed i am to be part of my family until a horrible cold war with my mum occurred on sat.

Ive always known my parents were great. But i never knew how to treasure and love them until i trashed out stuff with my mum amidst tears on monday morning. I ve only came to realise how selfish i was.



I must have the most stupid person in this world. To have realised all this only now.



Yes, i am. And i feel SO enlightened now.


This also gives me my motivation and determination for many things i am doing/ wanted to do.


I will do it and i can.

Just got my SAT results.1430..okay i guess considering i mugged the night b4..bleah..hahas..Thinking of whether to just brush up on my english first and go for a second try. Should be able to get better scores =)

It was the last day of my attachment today. Same routine as the past. Today, 4 of us wrapped 105 presents for christmas! ahahs..almost becoming an expert at wrapping presents...then went off for home visits again.

First to this Indian lady's home, who was having a slight fever and infection. Then to this 73 yr old man's home in Aljunied. He was real stubborn. Worse than a mule. He kept insisting on having things his way, refusing to eat his Wafarin medicine, and keep sayin he doesnt want to worry his wife. But the truth was he was creating more trouble for her with his uncooperativity. She whispered to us that she had to go through more trouble, in addition to the chemo radio therapies and checkups, to mix the pounded medicine into fruit juice for him to consume. Tiring man! We spent a staggering 2 hours there because he didnt want to cooperate. But Wan Hua was still as patient as ever. I really admire her for her drive and professionalism. And her linguist talent. She can speak English, Chinese, Hokkien, Cantonese, Malay PROFICIENTLY. And to add it on, some tamil as well. I suspect she might be able to speak more, u noe..hahas...

TAG's over. Its back to the normal routine again. Its my dad's bday in 4 minutes but hes on the airplane now. So sad! I dun ever wanna spend my bday alone in an cold sterilised airplane. My poor dad.. =(

Its been so long since i blogged. Probably one of the highlights these few days is TAG. I mean i understand why its called TAG, because we literally tag around. =P
I was attached to Singapore Cancer Society,a volunteer welfare and self-funded group. My mentor's called Wan Hua, the head nurse or something like that. I cant really remember her post.

Anyway, it was an eyeopener for us. Us referring to iggy, serene and linli =) had loads of fun during the attachment, doing silly stuff as well as meaningful ones. SCS is actually non government aided, yet they still provide hospice service free of charge as they hope to provide support and medicinal care for the cancer patients who are facing a monolithic ordeal in their lives.

One of the most interesting person i encountered on this trip was Mr Chan, the chairman of the New Voice Club (one of the support gps). He had throat cancer and had to have his larynx surgically removed. He obviously does not have a voice box anymore and so he cant speak. However, he has acquired a technique known as oesophagus speech, using airflow from stomach and the oesophagus to speak. Its is very tiring and difficult to grasp. Many of the members there still cant speak after 1 yr of practice. In fact, they could use Senrox, this voice vibrator that they place at the throat to produce alien-like projections of their "voices". However, it is virtually ImPOSSIBLe for them to use it in public lest they scare off ignorant people. Therefore despite all the difficulties they have in learnign to speak with their new voices, they only have Hobson's choice to simply keep trying.

Oh. Did i mention that they dont breathe through their nose? Their noses becomes dysfunctional after the operation so they breathe through an artificial nose (which is an opening in the neck). Its scary! Mr Chan didn want to show us his "new nose" because he recalled that some students fainted when they saw the wound some years back.

We have been going around on home visits as well. And i really learnt the importance of treasuring one's health. Though cliche, there is probably nothing truer than "Prevention is better than cure". LOok at all the cancer patients who have survived the cancer, stablised their condition and have so-called recovered. NONE of them probably weighs more than 40 kg i think. This 90 yr old granny should have been the epitome of the phrase "only skin and bones". We have been to visit so far a bedridden 77 yr old granny, a CAnto-speaking Mr Lee, a Mr Muhammad suffering from CA stomach, a Miss Wan suffering from lymphoma, and an Indian lady.

Tomorrows gonna be my last day ( 4 days long attacment)and we are preparing cards for our mentors

We did christmas decorations today for their upcoming christmas party on 3rd Dec, wrapped 59 presents, and the day before packed 1000 set of FOBT test kits and probably 100 mails.=D

Daphnes out..ahahas...so many ppl are happy that shes out.And im proud to proclaim im one of them! Rite..maybe i dun detest her that much. I never thought she sang well. It was those sort of i-dun-give-a-damn singing tone that made me dislike her. I was baffled as to WHY those loathsome 4 favour her so much.

Alright.Sly didnt carry An Jing off too well too.

Finally all my tests/exams are over. (except for THAT big one in dec)
CLAO-quite ok..was sleepy as usual as i did the exam..
SAT- English section was horrible.I enjoyed the excerpts and passages though. They were very enlightening!sorrie jac..by the time i came back online u were gone =PP
Theory exam- It was so much simpler than i expected. Luckily i only spent one hour preparing for it. Think i might even get a perfect score if nothing goes wrong! =)

Alright, my fingers are really developing calluses from playing. It so painful..i ve got a plaster on my right hand now..and hope my left doesnt need any. Been improving steadily over the past few days and i really need that. And plenty more confidence. HOW? Im scheduled to go down to rgco next sat and perform those 3 pieces.I hope to be able to go to dhsco and play as well..or even better to TTK! hahas..okay..im day-dreaming.. Met jl at shangyin today and we were discussing about teachers.

I watched shark tale today. It was not exactly a great experience since i had to sit right in the first row as the entire theatre was filled with jaunty kids, who couldn wait to watch the movies.

Alright, on to the movie itself. I felt it was of course a cliche and shallow plot as most other animations have. Yet i enjoyed the humour they displayed. (though i felt the kids wouldn understand. Most of it was arrowed at adults) But the voice-over was remarkably entertaining! Not too bad a show..hahas.

Then i went down to DHs for CCO. I must say i genuinely enjoyed the session today and i can perceive why the dunmanians look forward to cco practice with such ZEST. To put it overtly, because it gives every player a sense of satisfaction. Though we only played two subtle yet beautiful compositions today, it definitely gave me a deeper understanding of what music is truly all about. And how one should truly immerse oneself in it.

SHi zi lu kou was so so fun! hahas..it was quite a success cos almost every one turned up. Ate so many things..until stomach abit crazy.i was in the chi1 chi1 he1 he1 wan2 wan2 zu3 with weidi, elaine, zhanpei and joyce..=PP

for the last dish my gp was so tired..we just decided to get the lousy ramen from 7 eleven and finish it off...=PP

stupid emmes grp cheat a bit one..=P thats why they won first.still must treat them to movie! not fair ! =PP

Anw..i forgot to mention the submission of PW GPF!!! yay..wad a relief..my gp worked through the nite..didnt expect us to have to work for so long.so i didnt bring a change of clothes or my contacts stuff! we went to amys house on mon at 7 after dinnre and started work..do everything so we all so slack the whole yr..until 1.30 cudnt take it and fell asleep.woke up at 3 to continue piaing..

PIaed till 1040 on tues then we finish (submission deadline was at 1030 on tues). so gross..didn shower and change. rushed down to sch in the SAME set of clothes as monday's k..disgusting..and finally submitted the HORRIBLE GPF at 1100 (my gp was the latest =PP)

so i went home to remove my contacts, which i worre for 27 hours!! gosh..crazy..and to shower..showered twice k..felt so disgusted..then went out quickly to meet the class for shi zi lu kou..

guess wad after shi zi lu kou..i came home and slept for SIXTEEN hours! didn know i slept so long..i skipped dinner and breakfast..hahahs..okie..gtg now! =)

The last few days were like hectic yet soo soo fun..hahas..
hectic, cos my slack gp was piaing PW...kept going to amys house until i felt i wood forever have bad impression of Amy's beautiful house..wad a waste to link it to PW.
fri,sat, sun, mon were ALL at amys house...

Saturday was quite a fun day (off from PW =P) I met up with emmeline in the afternoon to go ard orchard.initially i wanted to buy a witch hat..cos i felt that would match my outfit and my attempt to dress up as a witch! but then we saw so many beautiful earrings and necklaces at Isetan..and decided to buy them instead..anw.i think its more worth it to buy accessories than the witch hat which i wood prob wear only once..=P
Then we met this really weird couple on the Mrt as we were heading for amys house to meet the rest of the class.. Emme was eating her bread on the train (of course we knew it was illegal but she only had 2 bites left). Then both of them start scolding emmeline k! the guy even said something like " piss and shit and eat on the train.....will go to hell...." blablabla..crazy! its only A BITE OF BREAD!

okie anw..went to amys house and were disappointed the rest of the class didnt dress up..and most didn go to amys house for trick or treat..so emme and me sorta put on some green eyeshadow. she said i looked like a charmer after tat! but no withc hat..so i felt my outfit was a bit weird -P

Hailed a cab to HC..but NONE of the ppl dressed up..so so so disappointing! only the councillors dressed up elaborately..So i felt damn out of place there..hee...
went to watch exorcist later.but it was horrible.the sounds were so muffled and we couldnt hear anything.so didn understnad most of the things..except to wait and wait for gory scenes..hahas..i liked the "spiderwalk"!finally when we went to amys house, we read up on the movie and finally understood the plot..=P

stayover at amys house was pathetic.so many ppl didnt turn up as they promised..so milton, samuel, hui shan, emmeline, amy and me talked till about 4 then slept..=P
woke up the next day to do PW..=((
