Truly, hcco doesnt have such a high standard. If our future generations continue to be so complacent and rush at the eleventh hour as we have done this yr, I gurantee hcco will not only lose her title and will also fall horribly.(others will all sit around and laugh at us) I sat through the whole competition day and listened to all the groups. Clearly, there were many groups who had put in a lot more effort and refined many parts, definitely much more than hcco did. Personally, i am unhappy what the judges mentioned that they prefer more wen2 pieces. As judges, what gives them the right to PREFER some pieces over others and blatantly show that they like certain genres of pieces?? It only goes to show how unprofessional they are by doing so. They should judge primarily on how the chosen piece is delivered, not the genre! CO music has all along been about jing1 tian1 dong4 di4, gan2 ren2 fei4 fu3 music. Without all these emotions, we are better off being known as the symphony orchestra or the band.
Going along this line, I was upset that vjc with their close to impeccable interpretation of ji4 guan1 yu3 did not elicit good comments from the judges. Of course they had several flaws and could not be compared to hcco in terms of skills. Technical skills. BUt njc better than vjc?this really deludes me..
IN a nutshell, all these SYF competitions are just SCREWED. totally. not only SYF competitions,actually ( you guys know what i mean). Its losing all its meaning. Simply, now its becoming more of WHO MAKES UP THE JUDING PANEL and WHO IS YOUR CONDUCTOR and WHO IS YOUR TEACHER. In other words, one's fate is almost sealed before he/she/they enters the competition hall. One word- screwed.
ANW..i ve turned to releasing my angst and stuff on green day 's american idiot album and i am highly addicted to it now. haha. a bit slow rite.Its really a good album. GRAB it everyone if you havent!!
